Daniel can now read.
He's been capable for a long time, but didn't want to. It's part of his personality to not rush into things, and to not try until he knows he can succeed, and to learn in private. (He's the one that could walk but refused until he was confident he could stand up unassisted in the middle of the room. ONLY then would he walk--months after he learned the skills
Plus it's hard to do things in private around here. Usually the kids gather to cheer him on. That's incredibly valuable for him normally, unless he's trying something hard. Then he just won't try because if there's a risk of failure, he wants to take it in private.
So....reading. He got it today, and was willing to try, and was so proud of himself!
